Sometimes a question, prompt, or idea can "flip the switch" and put you into action. I heard coach Michael Burt describe this as activating someones "prey drive."

Well I received an email a month or so ago that put me into action. It was from a second year Co-op student from the University of Waterloo Kinesiology program. This is the same university and program that I attended (class of '07) so I was immediately interested. This student, Jordan was asking if we had a job that she could do full time for the January 2025 semester.

This got me thinking immediately, and the answer was YES! I have been trying to hire a full time personal trainer for months with no successful canditates. This is someine who is highly intelligent, highly motivated (she was PURSUING what she wanted), and an athlete to boot. It was perfect.

So I replied, met with Jordan for an interview, and she is going to be PERFECT for this role at the gym and clinic. Without further ado, everyone meet our new personal trainer Jordan Ripley!

"Hey everyone! My name is Jordan and I'm the new personal trainer and fitness instructor at REBUILD. I am a second year Kinesiology Co-op student at the University of Waterloo and i'm so excited to meet you! The reason why I chose the University of Waterloo is because of their amazing interactive labs, especially the Anatomy one! I also chose the University of Waterloo for their amazing Co-op program so I can get hands-on experience in the workplace while still in school. Not only do I like school, I love being active as well! Hockey, field hockey and softball are just a few of the many sports i've played over the years, I even play on the University of Waterloo Softball team too!"
